01 / PLANNING NOTE

Build the handover list before the project is finished. The building team needs a clear inventory of the equipment, model and serial information, where it is located and who is responsible for looking after it.

02 / PLANNING NOTE

Request the agreed commissioning records, operating manuals, controls information and warranty documents. Have the contractor explain normal operating schedules, access arrangements and the process for reporting faults.

03 / PLANNING NOTE

Coordinate responsibilities between tenants, the building owner, the controls provider and service contractors. Record which spaces and pieces of equipment each agreement covers, including any exclusions.

04 / PLANNING NOTE

Keep a dated record of the work and a practical service contact list. This article is a planning aid; the contractor and project professionals must determine the requirements for the actual installation.
